Classes are offered on Saturdays, both morning and afternoon classes are available to fit into students and families' busy schedules.
Our instructors have degrees in language and literature, as well as teaching experiences in colleges and universities in mid Missouri for more than seven years.
Textbooks we are using are developed by our instructors based on their years of practice and experience teaching Chinese to American college students.
When we were developing the textbooks, our priciples were:
- To introduce to our students everyday Chinese that is as close as possible to our students' daily life;
- To include Chinese culture and history into our teaching material, so that our students not only repeating the sound of Chinese language, but also learning and understanding the language;
- We also reviewd how we have been learning English as a foreign language, tips and lessons to help our students in learning this new and very different lauguage.
- We strongly against any political influence in our textbook - we only want to introduce the Chinese language as a means of communication to one fifth of the population in the world we live in.
